John Mortimer - 1987

The Art of Advocacy

John Mortimer born in England in 1923. He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1943. In 1948, he was called to the Bar and launched a career in criminal law.

Mortimer also had a long standing career in the arts, first as a radio and television dramatist for the BBC and later for other broadcasters as well as in theatre.

Mortimer delivered two Beatty lectures in April 1987 titled "The Art of Advocacy" and "Clinging to the Wreckage".
