Workshop: Data wrangling in R
°¿±¹±ð°ù±¹¾±±ð·É:ÌýAs part of the data science life cycle series, this workshop will introduce you to R functions that help you to clean and manipulate your data sets. This so-called data wrangling often is the crucial step to prepare your data for your analyses. We will use tidyverse packages in this workshop.
At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý· import data sets using the readr package;
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý· apply the most common dplyr and tidyr functions for data wrangling;
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý· understand the principles of piping;
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý· different methods to treat missing values.
Prerequisites:
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý · Introductory knowledge of R, e.g. from Â鶹AV'sÌýR summer camp,Ìýor from ourÌýÌýworkshop.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý · You need to bring your own laptop for this workshop. Install R and RStudio on your computer. You can find installation instructionsÌýhere. Please contact us (cdsi.science at mcgill.ca) if you are having trouble with installation.
