Workshop: Introduction to Linux
Workshop Overview:Â This workshop covers basic tools available on a Unix system, as well as some of the details of operating systems in general, and of Unix systems in particular, i.e. the kernel, shells, daemons, and advanced aspects of the filesystem and permissions system.
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
> Create and edit a file on the command line;
> Build and run code;
> Connect to a machine remotely using ssh;
> Understand the components of a Unix system (i.e. the kernel, shells, daemons);
> Understand the permissions system.
Prerequisites:
· Knowledge of filesystems required (e.g. from Ìý·É´Ç°ù°ì²õ³ó´Ç±è).
Location: HYBRID. Online via Zoom, or in-person at  room 1104 (11th floor).
