Fall acquisitions update, plus information on volunteering

It's been some time since our last update but, I'm sure we can all agree, this session has been a busy one. Below is a list of our newest books, periodicals and DVDs to help you develop your career, plus some links to articles of interest. Magazines and serials

Maclean's University Rankings '09 is now in! This edition ranks the best schools in Canada, the top programs and professors, and reveals where to find the most scholarships. This item is available for onsite consultation only- ask for it at the front desk.

The latest issue of Verge magazine is available in print in the CaPS Resource Centre and online through , under the Documents tab- click on Career Resources and choose CaPS-Subscription from the drop-down menu. The latest issue includes the 2010 Go Abroad Directory, tips on how to choose an ethical volunteer programme, and an overview of teaching English in Argentina. You may also wish to consult their .

The Fall 2009 is now available and includes a summer associates survey with rankings of firms.

Free copies of The Career Planning Guide for 1st and 2nd year are available on our shelves in the hallway just outside of our office. Topics discussed include CVs and interviewing. We also have free copies of Fuel Inc., a new careers magazine. This issue features 204 ‘mindblowing’ jobs, advice on how to use Facebook responsibly, and confessions from parents on how they 'screwed up'.

Current Jobs in Liberal Arts, an entry-level careers employment bulletin published twice per month, has a new online format with listings updated daily. Access the bulletin and online updates via myFuture.

The latest job postings from The International Educator are available on myFuture.
