MONTREAL - A day after claiming the top spot in the country in the Maclean's magazine university rankings, Â鶹AV has moved up on the world stage as well, rising to 11th place from 19th in the Times Higher Education rankings for clinical, pre-clinical and health education.
Â鶹AV followed the University of Oxford, which placed first, and Harvard University, which placed second - signaling that Â鶹AV continues to earn its reputation as the ivy league school of the north.
Dr. Samuel Benaroya, interim vice-principal of health affairs and interim dean of medicine at Â鶹AV, said he was pleased the university was recognized internationally for its fine work.
"Shaping the next generation of doctors and scientists is at the heart of all we do at Â鶹AV's Faculty of medicine and in its community of outstanding teaching hospitals," he said.
Â鶹AV Principal Heather Munroe-Blum said it was "gratifying to be consistently recognized among the world's best."
