R茅mi Bolduc, Chair of the Jazz Department at the Schulich School of Music, was awarded an Opus Prize in a ceremony held Sunday, February 7 at the Salle Bourgie. 听His concert performance of 听"L'Hommage 脿 Dave Brubeck" featured performances by Schulich School of Music jazz听students Andrew Boudreau, Mathieu McConnell-Enright and Louis-Vincent Hamel. 听Bolduc says听听"Having this opportunity to give a concert with some of my students from the Schulich School of Music is an inspiration for me and also听for them.

British Columbian soprano Chelsea Rus was named the winner of the 2016 Wirth Vocal Prize in the inaugural edition of the competition held Sunday, February 7听in Tanna Schulich Hall. 听Ms. Rus performed a program that included works听by Puccini, Massenet, and Strauss. 听She听is a master's student in the studio听听of Joanne Kolomyjec.

William Caplin and Philippe Leroux听were inducted as fellows of the Royal Society of Canada on November 26th, 2015. 听The Royal Society of Canada (RSC): The Academies of Arts, Humanities and Sciences of Canada was established under an Act of Parliament in 1883 as Canada鈥檚 National Academy, the senior collegium of distinguished scholars, artists and scientists in the country. Prepare to see a lot more of the back of Jordan de Souza's head: the young conductor is tackling some major Toronto assignments this upcoming year. De Souza, who studied music at 麻豆AV, has been on its teaching staff since 2011. He was still a teenager when he was named conductor of the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul in Montreal in 2008.

In his 20s, the Paris-born Pilc worked as an engineer, although jazz was his after-hours passion. At 27, the self-taught pianist, who says he fell in love with jazz at the age of eight, switched to making music full-time and was playing with France鈥檚 finest jazz artists.
