With a career that includes numerous appearances on stages in Europe, Asia and North America, Dominique Labelle’s return to Québec as voice professor at Schulich is both a joyous homecoming and marks the turn of a page.   Ms. Labelle has consistently received great acclaim for her performances and has made numerous recordings of opera and concert repertoire. She can be heard on record labels including Virgin Veritas, Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Denon, New World, RCA Victor Red Seal and more.

Graduates of the Schulich School of Music posted a clean sweep of the jazz category at Saturday’s Juno Awards in Winnipeg.

Program alumni Christine Jensen, Mike Downes and Mike Rud took home the hardware for Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year,Traditional Jazz Album of the Year and Vocal Jazz Album of the Year respectively.

Following an exciting public recital competition held on Saturday, March 15th in Tanna Schulich Hall, and approximately 15 minutes of deliberation, Jury chair  Prof. Douglas McNabney announced Victor Fournelle-Blain  as winner of the Golden Violin Competition.
