2024 Montreal Alumni Reception: a cherished annual event

Alumni and friends of the faculty came out in force in spite of the rain

The annual Montreal Alumni Reception brought together Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences alumni, faculty members and staff, and friends for a memorable evening of catching up and celebrating. It takes place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal during the Journées internationales dentaires du Québec (JDIQ), making it ideal for alumni to meet with one another directly at the JDIQ. This year the reception took place on May 27 in the Chapiteau space on the 7th floor, and while participants could take in the expansive views of Montreal from the terrasse, strong rain and wind kept the event indoors.Ìý

Dean Elham Emami expressed gratitude to the attendees and thanked them for having the confidence in her as she moves forward in her second term as Dean. "It has been very important for me to listen to you, so we can continue to share our experiences, embrace equity, diversity, and inclusion, and co-develop and co-deliver sustainable outcomes that benefit our whole community. It is an honour and a privilege I take to heart." The Dean and Division Directors highlighted achievements in their areas from the past year.

The Outstanding Alumni Awards were given out to remarkable alumni, and for the first time to future alumni. The 2024 winners were Dr. Joel Berger, Dr. Mackenzie Salmon, Eric Krochmalnek, Tyler Baliesh, Ariel Bouhadana, and Nathaniel Mellul. To learn more about the 2024 winners read ourÌýarticle.Ìý
