Professor de Motta's research focuses on corporate finance, financial intermediation and organization theory. His current research topics include the optimal degree of corporate diversification, the role of institutional investors on corporate governance and the performance of venture capital markets. Professor de Motta has published his work in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Review of Economic Studies.
