Gildan makes a $150K donation toward 鶹AV Desautels’ sustainability initiatives
Leading sustainable apparel manufacturer Gildan has partnered with the 鶹AV Desautels Faculty of Management to advance the University’s Sustainable Growth Initiative. The collaborative effort aims to create actionable strategies for businesses transitioning to sustainability. Over three years, Gildan will be generously contributing $150,000 to 鶹AV's Annual Grand Challenge on Sustainability. The event, launching this August, encourages Canadian students to address apparel industry sustainability issues. As the title sponsor, Gildan's ESG leaders will participate in the challenge, aligning with the company's commitment to purposeful projects. This partnership exemplifies Gildan's Next Generation ESG strategy, fostering positive impact for a better future.
“In line with our Next Generation ESG strategy of creating meaningful advancements in the communities where we operate, Gildan is pleased to encourage a new generation of Canada’s driven and solution-oriented students to focus their potential towards making tangible environmental and social differences,” says Peter Iliopoulos, Senior Vice-President, Taxation, Sustainability, and Governmental Affairs at Gildan.
