Â鶹AV Engineering master program boosted by 3M gift

Published: 25 November 2005

New scholarships for the Master in Manufacturing Management

A generous gift from a leading technology company, 3M Canada Company, to Â鶹AV's Master in Manufacturing Management (MMM) program has created two new entrance scholarships. The gift will also fund professional development opportunities for students, including on-site case studies and plant tours.

The 3M Canada donation is a clear indication of the value the company sees in Â鶹AV's unique program, the only full-time program of studies in Canada combining engineering and management studies. The partnership with 3M will serve to further increase recognition of MMM alumni, who already have an excellent reputation in the industry.

"We couldn't be happier about this key gift from 3M to the Master in Manufacturing Management program," says Christophe Pierre, Dean of Engineering. "The greater involvement of companies at Â鶹AV means not only greater prospects for graduates, but additional opportunities to engage 3M in research and other professional activities at Â鶹AV."

"Â鶹AV has distinguished itself as a world leader in engineering," says Tony Marranca, Vice President, Manufacturing and Engineering, 3M Canada Company. "The Master in Manufacturing Management program supports Canada's efforts to successfully compete in the global marketplace and 3M Canada is pleased to have this opportunity to partner with Â鶹AV in support of such an exciting initiative."

About the Master in Manufacturing Management

The Master in Manufacturing Management (MMM) program is developing the next generation of leaders in operations. It is the only full-time program of its kind in Canada. Graduates have skills in engineering, management and leadership, and specialize in manufacturing, supply chain or logistics operations. The program aims to provide students with the tools necessary for dealing with the changing demands of the global economy.

MMM is a partnership between Â鶹AV's Faculties of Engineering and Management and industry partners. A key feature of the program is industry participation and interaction. To ensure students understand the issues and challenges facing business today, case studies, plant tours, seminars, industrial projects and internships are provided by corporate sponsors and partners.
