Surge in private jet sales bolsters Bombardier

When Bombardier announced it exiting the commercial aviation business in 2018, its stock price tanked. But the company has forged a path forward with its focus on private aviation, writes Prof. Karl Moore. The pandemic proved to be an unexpected boon for the company. As travel restrictions were imposed, demand for private aircraft soared. And with few used aircraft available, buyers turned to Bombardier, according to company President and CEO Éric Martel. Now, the company has a backlog of orders for many of its aircraft, and is in its strongest financial position in decades.
