FAEQ deliver bursaries to Laval's Polossifakis, Lefebvre and Roy
A trio of Laval student-athletes were among the 55 deserving student-athletes who shared $184,500 in individual bursaries as part of the Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence (FAEQ) at the Foundation’s annual Sponsorship spring cocktail party that was held in the John Molson Room in Montreal earlier this month. The FAEQ also celebrated the performances of numerous bursary recipients, who have already qualified or are in the process of qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
FAEQ awards $30,000 in bursaries to incoming Â鶹AV student-athletes
Six incoming freshmen to Â鶹AV have been pegged to share $30,000 and are among the 35 recipients of recruitment bursaries totalling $165,000, announced last week by the Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence. The amount includes five awards of $3,000 apiece, distributed to Canadians from outside Quebec who have chosen to pursue their educational and athletic careers in a Quebec university.

Mark London grew up in the Elca London Gallery, of which he has been director for the past 25 years.
“The gallery and I were conceived at the same time,†says London, son of Jonas London, an office manager and Â鶹AV commerce graduate, and Elca London, who held a master’s degree in psychology from Â鶹AV and worked at psychiatric hospitals. His mother’s means of earning a living was about to take a creative turn when Mark was in utero.
Walking for a cause
One day, almost 10 years ago, Christine Boutros felt something she will never forget.
She remembers it like it was yesterday: “You know when you sit on your leg for too long and it feels tingling? I thought it would pass but it didn’t,†she explained.
A few months later, Boutros, at the age of 45, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. “It was kind of surreal,†she said.

BCom Students Win 2016 National Investment Banking Competition
Two Desautels BCom student teams took 1st and 2nd places in the Undergraduate Division at the National Investment Banking Competition (NIBC) held on March 23 to 24 in Vancouver. Every year, the competition attracts more than 330 teams of undergraduate and graduate students from top business schools around the world. It is recognized as one of the most prestigious financial case competitions in North America.
