Katya Marc, M.Eng., MBA. Associate Director, Â鶹AV Engine
Katya works closely with faculty members and students in advancing their technologically-based ideas and research, in the promotion of technologies and expertise of the Faculty to potential partners, and facilitates interaction between the various stakeholders in the projects to achieve successful collaborations and transfer of outstanding research from the labs to the marketplace. She co-founded the Â鶹AV Engine and its programs. She has been working at Â鶹AV for over 25 years, across multiple faculties but servicing mainly the Faculty of Engineering for their research/service contract and intellectual property commercialization needs, and for helping build the entrepreneurial mindset and skills of its members.
Christina Maria Katsari, PhD. Mitacs Representative at Â鶹AV
Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that has designed and delivered research and training programs in Canada for more than 20 years. Working with over 100 academic institutions, 6,000 companies/ NGOs, hospitals, municipalities and both federal and provincial governments, they build partnerships that support industrial and social innovation in Canada. With her colleagues Noha Gerges (Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, Desautels Faculty of Management, Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences) and Prisca Bustamante (Faculty of Science, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences,Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences), Christina (Faculty of Engineering,Schulich School of Music,Dobson Centre,Engine Centre) represents Mitacs at Â鶹AV. Together, they are the official contacts for Â鶹AV students and faculty who are interested in Mitacs funding programs. All completed applications are submitted to them, reviewed and then forwarded to the Office of Innovation + Partnerships for final institutional signature and approval. Once the applications are approved, they are officially submitted to Mitacs where they will undergo an external peer review process.
