Fifteen participants from the participated in a volcano activity.Â
Led by PhD student Fiona D'Arcy and Prof. Jeanne Paquette, students were given the opportunity to look at rocks formed by volcanoes, analyze volcanic ash under a microscope, and understand some of the pros and cons associated with volcanic eruptions.Â
Towards the end of the activity, students were put in groups and debated whether volcanoes were good or bad for societies based on what they had learned.Â
