Accessibility, COVID-19 and Returning to Campus

Monday, September 14, 2020 13:30to15:00

This workshop provides tips and best practices for working with clients with disabilities in the era of COVID-19. Front line workers, service providers, instructors and administrators will learn how they can facilitate access in their areas of work as the institution ramps up its in-person activities for the Fall 2020 semester. This workshop is provided as a collaboration between the Accessibility Advisor, and the Office for Students with Disabilities.

By attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the barriers persons with disabilities experience, especially those that have emerged as a result of COVID-19
  • Discuss solutions for reducing or eliminating these barriers in a safe and accessible way
  • Apply basic disability etiquette when interacting with people with various types of disabilities, include those using assistive devices, support persons and/or service animals.
