Dr. Luda Diatchenko
Professor - Departments of Anesthesia, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
Professor - Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences Faculty
Associate Member - Department of Medicine
Dr. Diatchenko’s program aims to identify a mosaic of “pain genes” and biological pathways contributing to human chronic pain via genome-wide approaches, understand pathophysiology of chronic pain, and find new pain drug targets. Dr. Diatchenko’s program will allow prediction of new drug efficacy for multiple chronic pain conditions based on individual genetic profiles. It is the world’s substantial, multidisciplinary effort based on human molecular genetic profiles with potential to transform pain management.
