On November 20, Meira Stern, physician at the Department of Family Medicine who practices at the Goldman Herzl Family Practice Centre, was honoured as a laureate at the second edition of the Academy of Exemplary Physicians. Hosted in Holmes Hall by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), the event celebrated eight distinguished physicians for their exceptional contributions to patient care, education, and the broader medical community. Dr. Stern was unable to attend the event and therefore Mylène Arsenault, Associate Chair at the Department of Family Medicine, and Mark Karanofsky, physician at the Department who also practices at the Goldman Herzl Family Practice Centre, accepted the award on her behalf.
In her opening remarks, Lesley Fellows, MDCM, Vice-President (Health Affairs) and Dean of the FMHS, emphasized the significance of the Academy of Exemplary Physicians in recognizing doctors who serve as role models for their peers and trainees. She highlighted the Academy's role in promoting Â鶹AV's core values of excellence in clinical practice, education, and research. "The Academy provides a high-profile platform to inspire and foster knowledge transfer between generations of physicians," she noted.
Congratulations Dr. Stern!
