How Ā鶹AVās Sustainability Projects Fund improved campus life over the past 15 years
Have you ever used one of Ā鶹AVās water-bottleĀ refill stations? Or visited theĀ Farmers Market, used aĀ compost bin, spotted a Ā鶹AV-ownedĀ electric vehicle, or parked or repaired yourĀ bicycle?
Each of these campus initiatives was supported by theĀ Sustainability Projects FundĀ (SPF), celebrating its 15thĢż²¹²Ō²Ō¾±±¹±š°ł²õ²¹°ł²ā.
The SPF, founded by students in 2009, is the largest fund of its kind in Canada, allocating $12 million to more thanĀ 370 environmental projectsĀ so far.
These include theĀ Ā鶹AV Feeding Ā鶹AVĀ project, which provides fresh produce from Macdonald Campus to Ā鶹AV dining halls;Ā , which grows food on the downtown campus; and theĀ Reusable Menstrual Product Initiative.
āThe Sustainability Project Fund has been an unequivocal success,ā said Shona Watt, Associate Director of Operations and Engagement at the Office of Sustainability. āThe initiatives it has funded over the past 15 years have transformed our campuses for the better.ā
