Registration is now open for Global Health Night 2022, happening on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022.

Global Health Night is an annual event held by Â鶹AV Global Health Programs that brings together and celebrates the achievements of Â鶹AV's thriving global health community.

This year we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Teguest Guerma, CEO and founder of LeDeG Midwifery College in Ethiopia, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Guerma will deliver the lecture titled: Improving reproductive health through education: community health and global health.

Dr. Guerma will link community health and global health by discussing the LeDeG Midwifery College, a charitable organization she established in Ethiopia. The college trains rural and disadvantaged girls who will go back to serve their respective communities at the end of their studies. She will also present the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Center: a social enterprise linked to the LeDeG Midwifery College for financial sustainability.

The event will be held in person at New Residence Hall with the option to view it online from anywhere.

Â鶹AV is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. Â鶹AV honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
