Negotiation Update: MUNACA
Negotiations between MUNACA and Â鶹AV began in the fall of 2020 and the parties have met regularly since then. Parties have been able to discuss and come to agreement on almost all the non-monetary elements within the collective agreement, including: Definitions, Discrimination and Harassment, Grievance and Disagreement Procedure, Disciplinary Measures, Probationary Period, Unpaid Leave of Absence, Labour Relations Committee, Rest Periods, Overtime, and Technological Change.
Negotiation Update: AMUSE (Casual Employees)
On September 22, 2020, the parties met to exchange non-monetary proposals for the renewal of the collective agreement for non-academic casuals. The collective agreement expired on May 31, 2020. Since then, the Parties have met 17 times for half-day virtual sessions. Several non-monetary items have been agreed upon between the parties, including:

On September 29, 2020, the parties met to exchange non-monetary proposals for the renewal of the collective agreement for Floor Fellows. The collective agreement expired on July 3, 2020. Negotiation update: SEU Trades & Powerhouse - Downtown and Macdonald Campus
Since the last update on July 7th, SEU Union representatives for Trades and Powerhouse / Macdonald and Downtown campuses and University representatives met 20 times.
AGSEM TAs and Â鶹AV sign a new collective agreement
We are pleased to announce that on December 23, 2020, the Association of Graduate Students employed at Â鶹AV (AGSEM-FNEEQ) and Â鶹AV signed a new collective agreement. The previous agreement expired on June 30, 2018 and the new agreement will end on July 31, 2023.
In the coming weeks, the detailed terms of the agreement will be shared with the community. The collective agreement will be posted soon on the Union’s and the University’s websites.
MCLIU Course Lecturers and Instructors and Â鶹AV sign a new collective agreement
We are pleased to announce that on December 23, 2020, the Course Lecturers and Instructors Union (MCLIU) and Â鶹AV signed their second Collective Agreement. The first Agreement expired on October 29, 2018 and the second Agreement will end August 31, 2022.
In the coming weeks, the details of the Agreement will be shared with the community. The Collective Agreement will be posted soon on the Union and University’s websites.
MCLIU Course Lecturers and Instructors Approve New Collective Agreement
The MCLIU Course Lecturers and Instructors Union held its Special General Assembly online, this November 20th, 2020. We are pleased to announce that members voted in favor of the proposed new collective agreement. The current agreement expired on October 29, 2018; the new agreement will end on August 31, 2022.
In the coming weeks, the parties will finalize and sign the text of the new agreement. Shortly thereafter, the detailed terms will be shared with the community.
Agreement in Principle: MCLIU Course Lecturers and Instructors
We are pleased to announce that, following more than two years of collective agreement negotiations between the parties, Â鶹AV and MCLIU Course Lecturers and Instructors reached an agreement in principle on October 30th.
The parties’ negotiation committees have agreed to recommend the contents of the agreement to their respective constituents and to keep the details of the agreement confidential until the Union has had an opportunity to share them with its members.
Update on negotiations with MUNACA
On September 10, 2020, the University met with MUNACA union representatives to begin negotiating the first collective agreement of their new bargaining unit accredited by the Tribunal Administratif du Travail on August 2, 2019. The parties agreed to meet on a weekly basis in order to ensure the progression of the negotiation.
Update: AGSEM TAs Approve New Collective Agreement
After several information sessions outlining the content of the proposed agreement, the Association of Graduate Students employed at Â鶹AV (AGSEM-FNEEQ) held its general assembly online on September 30. Members voted in favor of the proposed new collective agreement. The current agreement expired on June 30, 2018; the new agreement will end on July 31, 2023.
Negotiation update: Agreement in Principle: AGSEM Teaching Assistants
Following almost two years of negotiations between the parties, an agreement in principle was reached on July 9th in presence of the Conciliator appointed by the Ministry of Labour.
The parties’ negotiation committees have agreed to recommend the contents of this collective agreement to their respective constituents, and to keep the details confidential until the Union has had an opportunity to share them with its members.
Negotiation update: SEU Trades & Powerhouse - Downtown and Macdonald Campus
Since the last update on January 9th, 7 full day meetings in person and 11 half day online meetings took place between SEU Union representatives for Trades and Powerhouse / Macdonald and Downtown campuses and University representatives.
Update: AGSEM Unionization Drive
On Thursday April 30th 2020, AGSEM filed the attached petition for the certification for academic support workers employed by Â鶹AV. The academic support workers in the attached list are targeted by this unionization drive.Ìý

MUNACA/PSAC Bargaining Unit Update
Following the MUNACA driveÌýwhich resulted in a new MUNACA bargaining unit, the Union filed a claim with the Tribunal Administrative du Travail (TAT)Ìýthat the expired MUNACA Collective Agreement, which had applied to the prior bargaining unit, should apply to employees now part of the new bargaining unit as of August 2, 2019, the date of the TAT’s decision.
Negotiation update: SEU Trades & Powerhouse - Downtown and Macdonald Campus
Since the last update on October 29th, six meetings have taken place between SEU Union representatives for Trades and Powerhouse / Macdonald and Downtown campuses and University representatives. The Parties continued their discussion regarding work uniforms, safety shoes and Union bulletin boards; they reached agreements on these matters on October 30th.
