The Institute of Air and Space Law celebrates the recent news of Major Matthew Ormsbee’s next military assignment. In August, Major Ormsbee will move to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he will serve as an Assistant Professor of Law at the United States Air Force Academy. He expects to teach the introductory law class relating to U.S. constitutional law, criminal law and procedure, and the law of armed conflict. In addition, he will teach an upper-level course on space law and applications. He hopes to mentor students in moot court competitions, help lead conferences and symposia, and regularly publish on air and space law topics.

Major Ormsbee is excited and honored for this incredible opportunity, where he can share with students all that he has learned while at Â鶹AV. He thanks Professor Ram Jakhu especially for his guidance and instruction on space law concepts, both in class and as his thesis supervisor. Major Ormsbee also hopes to continue a long history of collaboration between Â鶹AV’s Faculty of Law and the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the greater U.S. Air Force.

"We are very proud of the achievements of our graduates" Interim Director, Prof. Donal Hanley, said "the posting of Major Ormsbee is proof of the quality of education offered by the Institute and Â鶹AV. We share Major Ormsbee's hopes to continue and foster our long successful relationship with the US Air Force "

The Institute wishes Major Ormsbee all the best in his new responsibilities.
