Pakistan's delegation to ICAO visits the IASL
Professor Donal Hanley, Interim Director, was pleased to welcome the Pakistani delegation to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to the Â鶹AV Institute of Air and Space Law. The meeting took place in the splendid common room of Old Chancellor Day Hall, where Professor Hanley led an interesting discussion about prospective collaboration and capacity-building initiatives with Pakistan. The delegation consisted of Director General of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCCA) Mr. Khaqan Murtaza, PCAA's Director of Operations Mr. Akhtar Mirza Ahmed Baig, and PCAA's Deputy Director General (Regulatory) Mr. Nadir Shafi Dar. Attaché of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Montreal, Mr. Muhammad Asghar Khan, was also a member of the delegation.
To the great delight of all present Prof. Hanley, together with Executive Director Stefan-Michael Wedenig, showed the original copy of Convention on International Civil Aviation (also known as Chicago Convention) to the delegation. The delegation applauded the role being played by the IASL in promoting the study of and research in air and space law and requested for the Institute's support towards the capacity-building of the PCAA in the field of international civil aviation. Prof. Hanley and Mr. Wedenig were accompanied by Dr. Joseph Wilson, sessional lecturer, and Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, Research Associate and Erin J.C. Arsenault fellow.
