David Fate Norton Fellowship In Philosophy
Established in 2018 by Mary J. Norton, MLS 1974, in memory of her/ate husband and Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Â鶹AV, David Fate Norton.
Eligibility | For an outstanding graduate student pursuing a PhD degree in the Department of Philosophy, who is working on a doctoral thesis in philosophy. Awarded on the basis of academic merit by the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts. Preference will be given to a student who will complete their thesis in the coming academic year. Ordinarily, the recipient will be expected to work full-time on their thesis. |

Dow-Hickson Fellowship in Theoretical Philosophy

Eligibility | Awarded by the Department of Philosophy. Tenable by a graduate of any approved university proceeding to a higher degree in Theoretical Philosophy (Metaphysics, Epistemology, Logic, History of Philosophy) at Â鶹AV. |
Value | Maximum value $10,000 (awards of lesser value may be made in certain cases). The holder may apply for a second year of tenure. |

A prize established by the friends and colleagues of the late Guy Desautels.
Eligibility | Awarded by the Department of Philosophy to a graduate student who has done outstanding work in the history of philosophy. |
Professor Storrs McCall Fellowship in Philosophy
Established in 2019 by Storrs McCall, BA 1952 and Ann McCall, BA 1964 in honour of Professor Storrs McCall's contributions to the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts at Â鶹AV.
Eligibility | For two outstanding graduate students in the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts, who demonstrate their ability to conduct promising research in philosophy. Awarded on the basis of academic merit by the Faculty of Arts, upon recommendation of the Department of Philosophy. |

Raymond Klibansky Prize in Philosophy
Established in 2006 through a bequest by Raymond Klibansky, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy. Professor Klibansky was born in Paris in 1905 and received his doctoral degree from Heidelberg in 1928. He was a distinguished scholar and philosopher at Â鶹AV since 1946 and a long-serving Chair of the department. He was one of the leading figures in philosophy in the 20th century.

Reverend Domenico Roberto Gualtieri Prizes Award
Established in 1999 by Mr. Roberto Gualtieri, B.A. 1957, to honour and preserve the memory of his father, the Reverend Domenico Roberto Gualtieri (1888–1952), pastor, publisher, and humanist who believed that the church had a social as well as religious role in society.
Eligibility | Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the Department of Philosophy. One award available for an outstanding undergraduate student in the first or second year of a Philosophy program who has demonstrated academic excellence and involvement in community or university affairs. A second award available for an outstanding graduate student in second or third year of the Ph.D. program. |
