Nancy Tapias Torrado
Nancy R. Tapias Torrado is the 2023-24 Barry Pashak Postdoctoral Fellow at Concordia University’s Centre for Social Justice. Nancy is a doctor in sociology (U. Oxford) and a human rights lawyer (U. Essex, U. Javeriana). She is also a Visiting Fellow at Â鶹AV’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism and a former Postdoctoral Fellow at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Nancy’s research focuses on the impact of Indigenous women-led mobilizations challenging abuses by corporations involved in mega-projects affecting their ancestral territories in Latin America and Canada.
