Phonetics & Phonology

About

Research in phonetics and phonology focuses on the patterns and sources of variability in the sounds of human language. We approach this from formal, experimental and computational perspectives and have special interests in acquisition, perception, prosody, conversational interactions, and analysis of speech corpora. We have a strong history of collaboration within the Linguistics department as well as with other researchers at Â鶹AV and elsewhere.
