World Bank President visits Â鶹AV and meets with Max Bell School students

President Malpass spoke about securing good development outcomes.

Every year, the World Bank presents an important policy-signalling address from a leading academic institution ahead of its general assembly in Washington, D.C.

David Malpass, President of the World Bank Group, took the stage in Pollack Hall at Â鶹AV on Monday, Oct. 7 to give his first major speech as president of the World Bank Group. His speech focused on the major global challenges and opportunities to achieving good growth. The event included a discussion moderated by Prof. Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou, Dean of the Desautels Faculty of Management.

Prior to his address, President Malpass met with 25 students from the Max Bell School of Public Policy, the Institute for the Study of International Development, the Desautels Faculty of Management and the Mastercard Foundation Scholars program.

Max Bell School Director Chris Ragan led the session which featured short remarks from President Malpass followed by questions from students.
