Biography: 

Dr. Chris Tsoukas is a professor of Medicine. He was an initial appointee to the Â鶹AV AIDS Centre. He was a pioneer in AIDS research from 1982-1992 when he conducted studies on HIV transmission through blood products. A major part of his clinical research and collaboration with Mark Wainberg began in 1988. He conducted innovative HIV Phase II clinical trials of drugs, HIV vaccines and immune based therapies. During the last decade, his focus has shifted to the immunopathology of HIV comorbidities, focusing on the links of inflammation, cardiovascular and accelerated aging. He teaches in a variety of Â鶹AV undergraduate courses, trains MSc and PhD students, as well as Post-Doc Fellows.
