General Description
Location
The Petite-Nation CLSC, which includes an emergency stabilization service, and the Family Medicine Group (GMF) is located in St-André-Avellin, in the heart of La Petite-Nation in the Outaouais region. At only 1h30 from Montreal, it is a stimulating rural setting where everyone can experience the many attractions nearby, including the Omega Park, the Papineau trail accessible right next to the CLSC, the trails of the Black Mountain in Ripon, the Château Montebello and its charms, the beaches of Lac-Simon and Lac-des-Plages. Winter activities such as skiing, snowshoeing and dogsledding are available all season long. Activities such as swimming, river rafting and hiking are available during the summer months. There are also local micro-breweries, a chocolate factory and several cheese factories that will delight the gourmets.

Clinical Exposure and Learning Environment
Rotation primarily done in stabilization emergency clinic. Clinical exposure of trainees includes mainly:
- Assessment and emergency care, with a high volume of consultations
- Diversified minor procedures including:Ìý
- Lacerations
- Abscess drainage
- Onychectomy
- Infiltration
- Dislocation reduction
- Diversified clientele and various problems
- Trainees may participate in CHSLD rounds and home care
Lodging
Type of Lodging
- Lodging is provided by the establishment and is located close to the clinic.
- Trainees are lodged in a shared apartment. Trainees have a private room and share common gender-neutral areas (bathroom, kitchen, living room).
- Lodging may be available as of the evening before the rotation.
- Trainees are expected at the CLSC at 8:30am on the first day of their rotation.
â–º It is important that everyone does their share to keep all common areas clean and safe at any time.

Transportation
A car is mandatory for this rotation. Depending on the location of their base teaching site, each trainee receives a stipend to help pay for transportation costs. Trainees must make their own travel arrangements.
NOTE: For all students making their own arrangements. All students will be required to attend a mandatory Progress Test at the end of each block. PLEASE do not make any travel arrangements before confirming the exact date of your test.
