Location
The Memorial Hospital is located in Wakefield (Outaouais region), 20 minutes north of Gatineau and 2 ½ hours from Montreal by car. The Family Medicine Center is located 1 km from the hospital. The teaching site is part of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l'Outaouais.

Lodging
Type of Lodging
Lodging is provided by the establishment and is located at a short walking distance (15 minutes) from the Clinic.
Trainees are lodged in a "Shared Apartment". Trainees have a private room and share common gender-neutral areas (bathroom, kitchen, living room).
Lodging can be available the evening before the rotation.
Trainees are expected at the Clinic at 8:00 am on the first day of their rotation.
â–º It is important that everyone does their share to keep all common areas clean and safe at any time.

Transportation
Trainees can travel to the site by car or by bus.
Depending on the location of their base teaching site, each trainee receives a stipend to help pay for transportation costs.
Trainees must make their own travel arrangements.
NOTE: For all students making their own arrangements. All students will be required to attend a mandatory Progress Test at the end of each block.
PLEASE do not make any travel arrangements before confirming the exact date of your test.
Traveling by Bus
- provides daily bus service from Montreal to Grand Remous and then from Grand Remous to Wakefield. For more information, visit the website or call 1-866-307-0002.
Traveling by Car
- Wakefield is located two and a half hours from Montreal by car. Take Highway 417 West (TransCanada Highway), then take the Nicholas Street exit and follow the signs to Gatineau via the MacDonald Cartier Bridge. Take Highway 5 and follow the signs for Maniwaki. After about 20 minutes, Highway 5 comes to an end at a stop sign. Turn right and then make an immediate left at the traffic lights onto Highway 105 North. After about 8 km, turn to the right at the Wakefield turnoff. At the bottom of the hill, turn left onto Riverside Drive.
