Join MORSL and Concordia’s Multi-faith and Spirituality Centre in visiting the Rigpe Dorje Centre for Tibetan Buddhism. This esoteric branch of Buddhist faith evolved starting in the 7th century in Tibet. It incorporates monastic disciplines of Buddhism, shamanistic features of indigenous Tibetan spirituality, a system of reincarnating lamas, a complex network of divine beings, and distinct approaches to meditation and yoga. Tibetan Buddhism spread to the Western world during the second half of the 20th century. The Rigpe Dorje Centre was founded in 1987 by Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche (b. 1954). The centre in Montreal was the first of many he founded in North America, Asia, Europe and Africa. It started out as a small and more informal community studying the Dharma, but its community, programs, and resources have grown over time. Join us in meeting and experiencing members of this interesting faith community.

We will meet in Concordia campus's Hall Building in room 746, and then travel to the centre together. The centre is a five-minute walk away from the Verdun metro station. Please bring your OPUS card or metro fare.
