24 Hours of Innovation
Consider it a cram session for change.
Starting at 9 a.m. on May 21 (in Montreal at least), some of the world’s brightest young thinkers will have one short day to create, develop, and pitch solutions to some of society’s stickiest problems. This is the competition.
The themes for 2013 are the environment and the war on drugs, and each team of five to 10 people signs up for the category of their choice. They then have to propose a solution and package it in a shiny two-to-three minute video, which will be evaluated by a high-profile jury. Simple, right?
Oh yeah, the winning team worldwide takes home $10,000. Not bad for a day’s work. Â
As an added bonus for Montreal squads, the competition will happen in collaboration with , the internationally renowned – and just plain cool – conference on commerce and creativity. Local 24h participants also have a chance to win one of four three-day passes to the conference, where they will get the royal treatment as “innovation ambassadors.”Â
More than 1,000 students in 10 countries on five continents will put their innovation and entrepreneurial skills on display during 24h de l’innovation. Research and International Relations and our Quartier de l’Innovation team encourage Â鶹AV students to sign up and show why Montreal is known as one of the most creative cities on the planet.
