Research Sustainability at Â鶹AV

Â鶹AV is a diverse institution with research activities spanning two campuses, 10 Faculties, 16 Schools, multiple hospitals, research centres, and institutes. It is home to more than 1,700 tenured or tenure-track faculty members.

As such, it is the University’s role to take responsibility for the environmental, economic, and social implications of its research. It is a core commitment within the Â鶹AV Strategic Research Plan.

Almost a quarter of Â鶹AV faculty members are engaged in sustainability research.

Â鶹AV Sustainability Systems Initiative

Shifting to sustainability requires taking a multi-faceted systems-level approach to some of the world’s knottiest problems. The MSSI provides funding to support bold and innovative research projects that address sustainability challenges and build Â鶹AV’s capacity for collaborative research. Funding competitions are launched annually and are open to all faculty researchers at Â鶹AV.
