The department is offering a new core graduate course starting this winter (W2022). The course is titled "Advanced Materials in Chemical Engineering" (CHEE 688), and will be co-taught by Prof. Noémie-Manuelle Dorval Courchesne and Prof. Reghan Hill. The course will cover a range of fundamental and applied concepts related to materials engineering, with a focus on topics of interest in chemical engineering. These concepts will be applied to inorganic materials, nanostructured materials, soft matter and polymers, and biological materials.
We welcome our newest faculty member Dr. Samuel Huberman (Assistant Professor).
His research focuses ontheoretical and experimental techniques to push our fundamental understanding of energy transfer at small length and time scales.
We are proud of Ulrich Legrand, Co-Founder and Technical Director of Electro Carbon, who after completing his PhD and a postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. Jean-Luc Meunier, became an entrepreneur and won the Mitacs Environmental Entrepreneurship Award for his technology that transforms CO2, responsible for greenhouse gases (GHGs), into a commercial product.
Congrats to Sophia Roy (Chemical Engineering undergraduate student)is one of four 鶹AV students to win a 2021 Quebec Lieutenant Governor Youth medal.Theaward recognizes the involvement, determination and constant striving of Quebecers who have or have had a positive influence in their community.

Like many professors,Christopher Moraesfrom theDepartment of Chemical Engineering, wears two hats – one as a researcher, the other as a teacher. The thing is, he does both really well.
Thirty-eight 鶹AV research projects have received federal grants through the CFI's John R. Evans Leaders Fund, which will provide them with state-of-the art research infrastructure needed to foster innovation.

$406,300 from JELF; $406,300 matching provincial funds.
Live 2020 . Saint-Gobain Life Sciences and Kanyr Pharma partner with clinical experts at the Research Institute of 鶹AV Health Centre and engineers at 鶹AV to develop new cell culture technologies.
Congratulations to Prof. Hoesli and Prof. Kopyscinski who have been promoted to Associate Professors and granted tenure as of June 1st, 2020.
CongratulationsRanjan Roy, second author of this recently published article. Many Chemical Analysis techniques were done in the Chemical Engineering Lab. He helped prepare the spectroscopic analysis methods and data interpretation. Way to go!
Congratulations Prof. Meunier, Prof. Berk, Ulrich Legrand, Norma-Yadira Mendoza Gonzalez and Pierre-Alexandre Pascone for a new patent issued!
You're invited to the inaugural Montreal CIC Local Section Annual General Assembly.
The event includes free light breakfast and free lunch for all members of our department, as well as a keynote talk by our very own Dean of Engineering, Jim Nicell.
Félicitations à Nariman Yousefi récipiendaire de janvier du prix Relève étoile Louis-Berlinguet!
