Research shows that early childhood gambling experiences, including those with lottery products, can be a risk factor for gambling problems later in life.

This research prompted the International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviors at Â鶹AV and the U.S. National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) to join forces in developing the Gift Responsibly Campaign. Since 2001, the simple goal of the Campaign is to raise awareness about the risks of underage lottery play.

The Connections lab at Â鶹AV has developed a survey to gain the perspective of school teachers and educators on the barriers teachers face when implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in their classrooms, in addition to assessing their knowledge of and level of access to Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) and social justice practices in the classroom. Ìý

Who can participate? Canadian elementary and high school teachers.

Dr. Julie Côté, KPE, is the PI of the Biomechanics of Occupations and Sports (BOS) Laboratory. She presented on les Mécanismes des Troubles Musculosquelettiques (TMS) chez les hommes et chez les femmes: similitudes, différences, impacts. The congress took place from October 26-28th.

A celebratory evening was held to celebrate the graduation of the 28 locals who completed their Â鶹AV Bachelor’s of Education studies on October 22.

The graduates were a part of a special program where they studied in the Kahnawake, with instructors from the community.

The Â鶹AV Mindfulness Research Lab is recruiting participants for a two-part paid study (compensation is $50) that will take place in-person at Â鶹AV. The first part of the study takes place online (maximum 1.5h time commitment), and the second at our lab in the Education Building (maximum 1.5h time commitment).Ìý
