“I feel most First Nations artists are multidisciplinary and have been forever” said Launière, this year’s Mellon ISCEI (Indigenous Studies and Community Engagement Initiative) artist-in-residence.

Emilee Bews, Indigenous Scholar and PhD. Candidate has been chosen to be part of Fora:Network for Change's Young Director program!

The Young Director program places youth aged 18-25 facing gender-based discrimination as voting Directors on non-profit boards across Canada. Youth Directors play significant roles in achieving community building, advocacy, and activism, while training governance and decision-making skills alongside mentors in coaching and directorship.

The Indigenous Studies Program (ISP) is seeking a Faculty Lecturer to teach four lecture/seminar courses a year, mentor Indigenous students, and contribute to the development of the ISP's outreach initiatives and events.

The successful candidate will develop and offer an Indigenous land-based or language-based course as part of their teaching load. Conditional on the strength of the academic candidate, preference will be given to candidates with experience in Indigenous languages of local Indigenous communities.

Every year in Kahnawà:ke, a Kanien:keha’ka community on Montreal’s South Shore, students present their projects at a science fair organized by the Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC).

For more than 15 years, KEC Science Curriculum Consultant Kathy Walsh has supported students at schools across the community as they prepare projects in the weeks leading up to the annual fair. This year, she and KEC Science Projects Liaison Mya Bordeau enlisted the assistance of 鶹AV’s Office of Science Outreach to bring 鶹AV students into the classroom as mentors.

Indigenous Pathfinders in AI is an enriching summer program designed to offer participants a unique opportunity to explore the world of AI. Through a series of workshops, activities and collaborative projects, participants delve deeper into the subject through an experience that emphasizes Indigenous approaches, perspectives and communities.

Running from late May to mid-August, it offers a flexible mix of in-person and virtual experiences, designed to fit a wide variety of schedules.

Branches – 鶹AV’s Community Outreach Program – along with representatives from several STEM faculties, spent a week delivering workshops in Chisasibi, Quebec.

Outbound Explore brings the 鶹AV experience to communities outside Montreal, providing students with access to workshops facilitated by different 鶹AV faculties. The hands-on workshops give students insight into applied sciences, educational resources, and resources offered to Indigenous students at 鶹AV.
