The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Fabien Gélinas, Ad.E., Sir William C. Macdonald Chair, was appointed Norton Rose Fulbright Faculty Scholar in Arbitration and Commercial Law for a one-year term. Professor Gélinas was one of the inaugural recipients of this award in 2013. He joins his colleague Professor Kun Fan, who is entering the second year of a three-year appointment.

The Faculty of Law is pleased to congratulate Professor Emeritus Armand de Mestral (left on photo) and Professor Fabien Gélinas on having been appointed to the new North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Roster for Canada, announced by the Government of Canada on 21 February. They were named to the Chapter 19 (Trade Remedies) Roster for a ten-year Governor-in-Council appointment.

The Nappert Prize Competition is open to all students, junior scholars and junior practitioners from around the world. To be eligible for the prize, authors must:
Â鶹AV’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) is currently accepting applications for:
- a twelve-month clerkship at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA);
- a ten-month clerkship at the International Court of Justice (ICJ);
- a nine-month clerkship at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR)
All three clerkships are due to start in September 2018.

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Andrea Bjorklund, L. Yves Fortier Chair in International Arbitration and International Commercial Law, and Professor Kun Fan have been appointed Norton Rose Fulbright Faculty Scholars in Arbitration and Commercial Law. Professor Bjorklund was appointed for one year; Professor Fan, for three years. The previous holders were Professor Fabien GĂ©linas, before he became the Sir William C.

- Fabien GĂ©linas has been named Sir William C. Macdonald Professor of Law, for a seven-year term commencing May 1, 2016. Fabien GĂ©linas, who leads the Private Justice and the Rule of Law research team, specialises in international dispute resolution and arbitration.
