Gender disparities persist glaringly around the globe with gender-based violence standing out as one of the most widespread human rights violations. Alarmingly, only 52 per cent of women who are married or in a union freely make their own decisions about sexual relations, contraceptive use, and health care. The United Nations has identified transforming harmful gender norms as a critical goal among its 17 Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

Prestigious award honours 鶹AV and RI-MUHC pioneer in the field of pediatric brain tumours

鶹AV Professor and Canada Research Chair in Pediatric Oncology, Nada Jabado, has been named the 2024 L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Laureate for North America. Dr. Jabado is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, a Senior Scientist in the Child Health and Human Development Program at the Research Institute of the 鶹AV Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and a Pediatric Hemato-Oncologist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital of the MUHC.
