Soyoon Weon received a PhD in the School of Social Work, Â鶹AV. She joined the Centre for Research on Children and Families when she was a doctoral student at Â鶹AV. Her research area is working poor, asset/wealth inequality and matched savings program, program evaluation and comparative social welfare policy. Her doctoral research explored the condition of asset poverty and the impact of asset-based intervention in South Korea using the quantitative methodology. She is now working in the Korea Ministry of Health and Welfare as a deputy director. As well as her career as a policy maker, Dr. Weon has worked in research related to the asset poverty and savings programs.Â
