Information session for residents for FRQS training awards and research pathway
The Department of Medicine has launched a concerted effort to better structure and support research training for trainees in our core internal medicine and subspecialty programs.
To that end, we are inviting all interested residents, fellows, and faculty to a Zoom information session on Tuesday, May 29 from 5-6 PM. We will discuss:
- The clinician-researcher career pathway in Québec and beyond
- Key training and funding opportunities for residents
- Timelines and key dates
- The Royal College Clinician-Investigator Program
- Career opportunities at 鶹AV
Panelists will include Dr. Guillaume Butler-Laporte, newly appointed faculty, Division of Infectious Diseases and current recipient, FRQ-S Resident Research Training Scholarship; Dr. Nathalie Johnson, Director, 鶹AV Division of Hematology and director, Clinician-Investigator Program; Dr. François Mercier, clinician-scientist and FRQ-S “Junior 2” scholar, Division of Hematology; and Dr. Kevin Schwartzman, Associate Chair for Research, Department of Medicine. Each will share their own experiences with research training and its support, including a Québec funding program specifically designed for residents.
We will leave ample time for discussion.
