During the first week of lectures, each instructor will provide students with a written course outline/syllabus that should include:
- A description of the topics to be considered in the course.
- The instructor's office hours, office location, telephone number for office appointments and secretarial contact information.
- A list of required or recommended textbooks and reading materials.
- A grading scheme or description of the means of evaluation to be used in the course, along with due dates for assignments and dates/times of exams.
- All term work shall be assigned early enough in the term for students to complete the assignment(s) by the last day of class.
- The due date for term work shall be no later than the last day of classes.
- Changes in the distributed grading scheme are permitted only with the unanimous consent of all students registered in the course. In practice, therefore, the grading scheme is almost never changed during the term.
