About Accounting
The discipline of accounting at Â鶹AV is focused on the creation and dissemination of high quality research. Moreover, we offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses for students looking towards a professional accounting career as well as for students in other majors wishing to obtain a solid understanding in accounting.
Research
Our faculty members comprise a diverse group in terms of disciplinary backgrounds, theoretical and methodological approaches, and research topics. Learn more about current research projects in our discipline.
In addition to individual pursuits, our faculty members are affiliated with the Business and Management Research Centre, a research incubator that plays a range of catalytic roles in developing and partially funding a number of research initiatives through providing PhD students with seed grants and travel grants, as well as by hosting brownbag seminars.
Teaching
The faculty in our discipline develop innovative teaching programs and novel pedagogical approaches that provide our undergraduate, graduate, and practitioner students with expertise in multiple domains:

- Bachelor of Commerce joint honors in Economics and Accounting
- Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (GCPA Program)

Students in Â鶹AV’s doctoral program in Accounting take courses from Â鶹AV’s Accounting faculty members as well as from the Faculties of Concordia University, HEC Montréal, and Université du Québec à Montréal. Upon admission, an advisor from the student's chosen area will assist in selecting those courses that best suit the student's interests while satisfying program requirements. Specialization courses may be selected from offerings of the four participating universities.
We are also well-connected to industry. Graduates of our GCPA Program and members of our Faculty’s Global Expert program contribute to our classrooms through guest lectures.
