Please note that effective Fall 2022, new students may be eligible to be granted an exemption from COMP 202 if they have demonstrable prior computer programming experience. To clarify, an exemption for this course would mean that you must replace the COMP 202 requirement with an additional eligible Technical Complementary (TC)* course from your program. To be granted this exemption, please provide us with a copy of your prior studies’ transcript indicating in which course you acquired computer programming experience, to undergrad.ece [at] mcgill.ca by no later than the Fall add/drop deadline (September 13, 2022). We will then review your submission, and should the exemption be granted for COMP 202, we would email you to let you know, and a message will appear on your ‘Unofficial Transcript’ on Minerva by the end of December. Requests submitted after the add/drop deadline will not be considered.
Note that this exemption is allowed only for students admitted as of the 2022-2023 academic year.
* For students in Electrical Engineering – any TC in list A or list B;
  For students in Computer Engineering – any TC in list A;
  For students in Software Engineering Co-op – any TC in list A.
