Student life

Â鶹AV's Faculty of Medicine is a dynamic learning environment. Our students are highly energetic and motivated people who demonstrate leadership, teamwork, commitment to public service and dedication to the health and well-being of society in innumerable ways. The boasts a number of clubs and interest groups covering a broad range of topics including: Community Outreach Projects; Family Medicine Interest Student Interest Group; Â鶹AV Black Medical Association; Â鶹AV International Health Initiative; Â鶹AV Medicine & Dentistry Choir; Â鶹AV Journal of Medicine, just to name a few.

Medical students also put together Ìýin 2019. It is their belief that people of all races, colours, religions, and languages should have the same chance of getting into medical school and that people from any background have the potential to become excellent physicians and make a difference in their communities.

Sepi Mortazavi

I lived in many countries before moving to Canada, and studied a double major in Biochemistry and Physiology, followed by an MSc in Nutritional Sciences, prior to being accepted to Â鶹AV Medicine.Ìý(in English)

I grew up in Belgium before moving to Canada and completed a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and one year of a Master’s program in same discipline, prior to starting the medicine program at Â鶹AV.Ìý(in English)

Charles Gervais

I am from Outaouais and completed Cégep at Cégep de l’Outaoauis. I obtained a Cognitive Neuroscience degree at l’Université de Montréal before studying medicine at Campus Outaoauis.Ìý(in French)

Tamara Laurin-Ricard

ÌýI grew up in a small rural town in Montérégie and completed my DEC in Montreal, prior to starting the Med-P Qualifying year and the MDCM program at Campus Outaouais. (in French)
