Hosted by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Simulation Summit 2017 will take place on November 1-2, 2017 Ìýat Le Centre Sheraton in Montreal, Quebec.
This unique interprofessional medical simulation education conference attracts hundreds of international simulation educators, researchers, health care professionals and other individuals engaged in the field of simulation.
This year’s conference theme is "Simulation for Health Systems, Care and Quality.†The program features more than 20 innovative and practical professional development workshops tailored towards interprofessional audiences, including:
- Emotions under the microscope: Studying and measuring emotions in simulation-based education
- Disaster simulation: How can we become better prepared?
- Human factors in simulation-based team training
- How to utilize simulation for the assessment of resuscitation competence
- Optimizing learning with Cognitive Load Theory (CLT)
- Debriefing the debriefing made easy: A simple approach to identifying and closing performance gaps
In addition to interactive, small-group workshops, the 2017 Simulation Summit will feature four dynamic plenary sessions from a diverse group of speakers, including:
- Rhona Flin, Professor of Industrial Psychology, Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University and Emeritus Professor of Applied Psychology, University of Aberdeen.

The conference will culminate with the popular SimTrek event, where high-fidelity scenario construction, team leadership styles, and debriefing will be on display in a truly unique fashion.
Simulation Summit 2017 provides an incredible professional development opportunity for simulation educators, physicians, nurses, and health professional educators with an interest in simulation; the ability to learn, train and network alongside researchers and healthcare professionals from different institutions and disciplines is what makes Simulation Summit so valuable.
The knowledge translation involved in the programming gives participants practical tools, insights and ideas to apply to their own simulation practice. In action, they have the potential to significantly advance quality in health and patient care.
We hope that you will consider attending this practical conference.Ìý
