Closure of the Steinberg Simulation Centre
Dear colleagues,
As you know, Â鶹AV is committed to helping contain the propagation of COVID-19 and fully supports the Quebec government’s decision to close all schools and universities for the two-week period ending March 29. We all must do our part to “flatten the curve†so that health services are not overwhelmed by the resulting patient load.
In this context, the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning has cancelled all simulation-based workshops and activities for the next two weeks. Because of the nature of simulation activity, users frequently work very close together, and jointly handle materials and standardized patients, risking virus transmission. We are concerned about the health and safety of our learners, faculty, staff and standardized patients, and are working diligently to promote social distancing and implement safety protocols to reduce the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
It is important to note that the situation is extremely fluid and this two-week closure may be extended. We will continue to communicate with you as things evolve. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please contact Mr. Philippe Legault, Director of Operations, by email: Philippe.legault [at] mcgill.ca.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these uncertain times together.
Sincerely,
Ìı
