Mr. Kozlick is an accomplished and recognized medical device and technology leader who leverages a strong foundation in research, product development, business development and growth strategies to envision and shape medical innovation opportunities. Passionate about early stage ventures and opportunities that require market analysis and needs assessment, product and business model discovery and definition, corporate strategic positioning and planning, and go-to-market execution.

Recognized for the ability to master complex and evolving healthcare technology applications, whilst leading and enabling multi-disciplinary teams to research, develop, commercialize, and integrate complex medical device systems. Extensive medical and clinical affairs experience with focused expertise in professional affairs and clinical education, and healthcare workflow development. Deep strategic experience in global and regional product management and corporate growth strategies, with both upstream and downstream focus.

His experience and expertise span multiple medical specialties and areas of concentration including electrophysiology, structural heart, cardiovascular, endovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, orthopedics, and minimally invasive therapeutics.

Course description: This course will educate the class more in depth towards the extension of systematic design methodologies (conceptualization, design, development, testing and failure modes analysis) for medical technologies. A new and important material coverage will focus on the important phases for systematic design and medical business perspective. Concepts and framework of ideation and conceptualization will be refined to incorporate the complexities that define the medical technology industry. Next, under the same theme, design, development and verification processes will be exemplified through real examples.

MECHÌý561 Biomechanics of Musculoskeletal Systems

Course objectives: Mechanical Engineering: The musculoskeletal system; general characteristics and classification of tissues and joints. Biomechanics and clinical problems in orthopaedics. Modelling and force analysis of musculoskeletal systems. Passive and active kinematics. Load-deformation properties of passive connective tissue, passive and stimulated muscle response. Experimental approaches, case studies.

Prerequisites (undergraduate): MECH 321 and either MECH 315 or MECH 419
