Emma’s FRQSC-funded doctoral research focuses on applications of mindfulness and self-compassion for suicide and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). Her undergraduate research examined internet and social media use among people who engage in NSSI. Her CGS-M-funded master's project assessed the quality of clinical practice guidelines in Ontario. Emma has completed practicums in systemic psychotherapy at the Argyle Institute and in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the MUHC CBT Unit. She has experience in couples and individual therapy with a diverse client base. She is currently completing a residency at the Memorial University Student Wellness and Counselling Centre.
