MURA is an active member of the College and University Retiree Associations of Canada (CURAC). It is a non-profit federation of retiree organizations at colleges and universities across Canada.
Members of the MURA Executive attended the Reception Honouring Â鶹AV Colleagues who retired between September 2019 and August 2022 that was held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in the Billiard Room of the Faculty Club.
As part of the Bicentennial Celebrations, faculties, central units, associations, and unions were asked to nominate the Unsung Heroes in their department – the less-recognized faculty and staff who have walked the halls of Â鶹AV through the ages
On April 15, 2021, the College and University Retiree Associations of Canada (CURAC) 2021 Virtual Assembly, hosted by MURA, was attended by over 200 participants.
Each year, the Â鶹AV Alumni Association (MAA) recognizes alumni, friends, students, faculty, and staff whose commitment has had a significant impact on alumni life, the University and/or the community.
It has been known for several years that James Â鶹AV, whose endowment founded Â鶹AV, owned, as did hundreds of his contemporaries, black and indigenous slaves. There are now demands for his statue to be removed from campus.
