Lindsay Roberts
Course Instructor (Oboe)
Lindsay began her musical studies at an early age in her hometown of Edmonton, Alberta. She went on to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Performance at Indiana University studying with Linda Strommen and Roger Roe. She subsequently completed her Master’s Degree, with a specialization in orchestral studies, at Â鶹AV studying with Theodore Baskin. Lindsay has since decided to make Montreal her home.
Very active on the Quebec music scene, Lindsay holds the Principal oboe position with Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke, as well as Second oboe and english horn positions with Orchestre symphonique de Laval, Orchestre symphonique de Drummondville and Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. She may also often be heard playing with the Orchestre Métropolitain, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, Les Violons du Roy, Les Grands Ballets de Montréal, and many others.
Lindsay leads an active career as a chamber musician. She is a founding member of Choros Wind Quintet and the oboe band, Hautbois Etc.. She is also a member of the newly formed ensemble Cassiopée, an instrumental nonet hoping to offer an innovative and alternative concert experience in contemporary music.
Along with performing, Lindsay is a very active oboe teacher. Along with the Schulich School of Music of Â鶹AV, Lindsay teaches at Concordia University, Vanier College, Cégep de Drummondville and Collège Notre-Dame.
